ECO-FRIENDLY CLAY GANESHA making workshops and public awareness program in and around Ahmedabad for sustainable nature friendly festival celebration Ganesh Chaturthi. The workshops participants were from kids of 10 years to elders who learnt to make clay Ganesha for their Ganapati Sthapana from 8 inches to 5 feet sizes. During pandemic the program is also conducted online where national and international
people participated.
Workshops, events and programs of making eco-friendly clay Ganesha idols using different techniques, in collaboration with schools, museums and organisations along with local makers, artisans and people for overall betterment of environment through traditional arts and crafts.

aadhar charitable trust and Media for Artisans (MfA) partnered for #LCOYindia2020. Local Conferences of Youth (LCOY) are events by YOUNGO, the official children and youth constituency to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. LCOY India 2020 is being hosted virtually by Brahma kumaris on the theme Restoring Nature…it’s time. Aadhar and MfA were promoting partner. Avani Varia curated the panel for “Sustainability & Indian Crafts event.

aadhar charitable trust and Media for Artisans partnered for LCOY-15, INDIA is being hosted by Brahma Kumaris from 2nd to 4th November 2019 at its spiritual HQ, Mt.Abu, Rajasthan. Youth from all parts of India were invited to participate in this event and make their voices heard. Aadhar and team organized charkha workshop and Avani Varia conducted a workshop “Journey & Exploration through Indian Heritage Art for Sustainabiity.

The Vanishing Pottery of the Varia Potters

Ms Avani Varia represented the Varia Community potters at the conference -Pairings: Conversations, Collaborations, Materials.
The Pairings Project at Manchester Metropolitan University was set up to explore the potential of collaborative creative practice. (Peer-reviewed presentations).
The Vanishing Pottery of the Varia Potters – An audio-visual presentation and poster about the current condition of the Varia Potters from Gujarat, India.

Varia Design Center sponsored and organized an exhibition of art works and textile products developed by girls trained by aadhar from Kochrab village from paldi, Ahmedabad. Amma Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai graced the event inaugural with guest of honor was Dada Shri Toofan Rafari.
Skill trainings, art and yoga workshops
From year 2003 to 2010
Slums of Kocharb village and Vasna village area in Ahmedabad.
In initial years we organised various skill upgradation trainings, art workshops and yoga workshops for underprivileged children and youth. i.e. hand embroidery, crochet, applique, knitting, patchwork, expressions via painting and sketching.
