“Explore Amdavad Arts” (EAA) is a project that conceptualised during The Heritage Film Festival 2014. The Heritage Film Festival (HFF) is initiated to explore India’s glorious heritage through audio-visual media. HFF is a project by aadhar to spread awareness and educate public about India’s heritage through films.
EAA is an interschool competition to explore arts of Ahmedabad district; with the target to search traditional and contemporary art / craft forms; possibly hand-made, those are practiced for generations at present.
Students from class 5 till class 12 of schools from Ahmedabad are participating in groups. Each group did their individual research and documentation under guidance of a mentor assigned by the school authorities. 150+ students in tentatively 15 groups are participating in this competition. Entire research was kept away from going online and kept to explore Ahmedabad Arts with conversations.
Expected outcome:
- Map activity.
- Documentation of explored arts in an interactive media (PowerPoint presentation, short film, Prezi etc).
- Report on personal journey and growth by each participant individually.
- On jury presentation by groups.
Project aims to involve school students in a research based exploration of Arts that are practiced in Ahmedabad.
Project desires children to start conversations with their family members, friends and people they know to get leads to find maximum number of variety of arts.

There are about 15+ groups of different age groups from the above schools participating in this competition. They all have been researching on Arts and Crafts of Ahmedabad since December 2014.

- 10 am to 12 noon – JURY
- 12.30 pm – Certificate distribution and Award ceremony in presence of Padmashri Kartikeya Sarabhai, JURY Members, School representatives and invited guests.
- 12.45 to 1.00 pm – MEDIA interaction with participants, Project director Ms Avani Varia, JURY members and Padmashri Kartikeya Sarabhai.
- 4 pm to 6 pm – EVENT OPEN to PUBLIC
